Agio

Agio means premium or payment. It is a premium on the face value and is usually stated as a percentage. For loans, the premium is a premium paid on the nominal amount of the loan.

Capital assets

Fixed assets include all those assets that serve the company on a long-term basis. These include, for example, intangible assets (e.g. goodwill), tangible assets (equipment, machines, BGA, etc.) and financial assets (securities, etc.).

Annuity loan

The borrower pays a constant payment rate during the term of the loan. This payment rate consists of an interest rate and a repayment rate. Due to the continuous reduction of the remaining debt, the repayment portion of the benefit rate increases continuously during the term.

Default guarantee

In the case of a default guarantee, the guarantor only has to make a payment if the creditor (usually the borrower) has unsuccessfully pursued the enforcement of the assets of the main debtor (usually the house bank). The federal government, the states and the respective guarantee banks regularly assume such default guarantees for banks, but they only have to make the payment when all the collateral provided for the guaranteed commitment has been realised.

E.g.:

KfW loan €1,000,000 80% default guarantee

Security house V-Wert € 600,000 (€ 400,000 free commitment, of which 80%, ie the guarantee is € 320,000 FIX)

Insolvency: who is liable for how much?

HB receives €600,000 from sale, ie loss of €400,000, default guarantee €320,000; Loss of house bank €80,000
